Hi! Thank you so much for offering to write these fandoms, and for checking out my letter. This is my first Yuletide, but please don’t let that worry you – it means that I’m going in with no expectations for anything, and don’t have any past experiences to compare things to – I’m just excited to be taking part, and I’ll be delighted with whatever you write me :D

This letter is my attempt to offer some extra details, inspiration or prompts in case you’d like them, but feel free to disregard this letter if you’re already inspired, have an idea that excites you which goes in a different direction, or aren’t the type of writer who finds those details helpful. Optional Details Are Optional!

Things I love: humour; fluff; cuteness; snark and banter; happy/feel-good endings; unusual AUs (any AUs, really, are awesome); found family dynamics; characters being in denial of their feelings (especially in the context of a love-hate type relationship); what-ifs and gap-fillers; clever, kick-ass, well-written female characters; female-dominant smut; light hurt/comfort (e.g. character A comforting character B after a nightmare, or character A patching up character B after a battle/fight); anything involving sleep, dreaming, or nightmares; sharing a bed <3

I am happy for the fic to be as long or as short as you please. I love shippy fic, but gen, close friendship and implied/open to interpretation relationships are super awesome as well.

Plotty fic is great, worldbuilding is great, plot-light character or relationship-driven fics are REALLY great.

Things I dislike:

Character death and tragedy; in general I like humour and happiness in my fics, or at least the knowledge that things will turn out okay
Plots or tropes revolving around deception – including infidelity
Gore – I’m okay with violence, but preferably not graphic descriptions thereof
A/B/O dynamics
Pregnancy
Rape/non-con (I’m also not a fan of dubcon tropes like sex pollen, fuck or die, aliens made them do it, etc.)
Stripper AU
Master/slave AU or dynamics
Scat, vore, bloodplay

Fandom-specific thoughts/prompts:

Baman Piderman

I have my doubts about whether anyone will offer this strange little fandom, but if you did, we should DEFINITELY be friends. I know Baman Piderman has fans, but it’s still rare to find them in the wild!

I requested Pumkin and Squib for this fandom as they’re my absolute faves, but I love the whole gang, so feel free to throw in whoever. Baman and Piderman getting up to shenanigans? Absolutely. Wanda being mischievous? Awesome. Tuba’s dad showing up to be weird and ominous? Why not!

I get a shippy vibe from Pumkin and Squib, but I’d be equally happy with just closeness or BFFs. Jealous!Squib would also be absolutely lovely. I’d be delighted with an appearance of Tuba and the Best Friend Band. This is a weird world that our characters live in, so if you wanted to do something with that, maybe write a strange adventure into a parallel universe or exploring the depths of Piderman’s house – I’d love it. Or, they can stay in one room and hang out for the entire fic. It’s all great :D

One other thing: I’d be happy if you want to assign genders to Pumkin and Squib (Alex and Lindsay have stated I think that Pumkin uses male pronouns, while Squib is generally considered genderless), but I would prefer them not to take on human forms. Vague, unusual, fluid or unacknowledged gender is super great by me.

Jonathan Creek (TV)

I have a long and abiding love for this show, but I confess that I’m a seasons 1 & 2 girl: the relationship between Jonathan and Maddy is my jam, and I was less interested in the show after Maddy/Caroline Quentin left. Having said that, if you’re familiar with the later seasons and want to write Maddy into them somehow, that works for me!

As I mentioned in my request, I would adore some classic snark and banter between Jonathan and Maddy – a case is optional, but very much enjoyed! Their relationship can be gen, or shippy – I love pre-relationship, getting together and UST dynamics, but I’d be happy with platonic, maybe with the hint of something more; an established relationship; or even references to a past relationship if you want to throw some angst in there.

I love these characters because they’re both clever, and strong-willed, and really funny when they play off each other, and although they irritate the heck out of each other, they also can’t seem to keep away from each other – anything that plays into that dynamic would be A+.

Canon universe is optional, so if you want to throw them into an alternate universe or another time period, be my guest!

10 Things I Hate About You

I would love shippy Kat/Patrick in some form, though if you’re inspired to write something different (a pre-movie friendship, perhaps?) then please be my guest! I’m a sucker for snark, banter and humour, and also female-dominant smut if you wanted to take things in a smutty direction. (If you want to write pure smut and leave out the romance, go for it! A friends-with-benefits relationship could be really interesting with these two. Or friends-with-benefits-with-accidental-feelings :D)

I’d be super down if you wanted to explore an alternate scenario for them getting together, or write something which takes place before they become a couple. As I mentioned in the request, denial of feelings is a favourite trope/theme, but I’d also be delighted with something established relationshippy – maybe a first anniversary, first time, or first fight if you want to throw some angst in there.

AUs are also great, if you want to write a setting that isn’t high school – feel free to age them up, write a college or a workplace setting, or something more “out there” if you feel inspired!

Unending bonus points if you manage to work in any Shakespeare references (Taming of the Shrew or other :D)

Stardust (2007)

Absolutely anything featuring Tristan and Yvaine would make me super happy – the possibilities are endless. I stuck some short thoughts into my request, but here’s some more detail:

Anything taking place on Captain Shakespeare’s ship – I’d love to see that time period explored more. If you want to focus on Captain Shakespeare, even, I’m down as long as Tristan and Yvaine feature – I didn’t request him outright as he’s not a “must-have” for me, but I adore his character. Feel free to include the rest of the crew, maybe have Tristan being utterly unconvincing as Shakespeare’s “nephew” and Captain Shakespeare betraying his secret heart of gold. I would love some sweet found family dynamics with Shakespeare, Tristan and Yvaine.
As Una is also nominated in the tagset, I’d be thrilled with any fic involving her – perhaps Tristan getting to know his long-lost mother, and Yvaine growing close to her, or wanting to win her approval; an appearance by Dunstan, or even some side Dunstan/Una, would be fantastic.
Post-movie – perhaps the immediate aftermath of the events of the film, or else several years after it takes place. I would love something focusing on the coronation, or giving Tristan and Yvaine another adventure if you felt that way inclined!
Other than Una or Shakespeare, please feel free to include any of the other extended cast that you feel like in the mix – they’re all really fun! I love the ghost princes, and I have a soft spot for Septimus despite him being mostly a ruthless killer XD
AUs with these characters (including canon divergence) are also welcomed and loved! I would love it to be shippy (Tristan/Yvaine), though if you were keen to write some alternate pairings (e.g. Yvaine/Victoria with Tristan as her best friend/confidante/wingman) I would also be into that!
