Oh, that comparison between corporate social media and bland suburban communities where everything looks the same is really on point!
I don't think I was on MySpace either, but I remember reading articles about girls learning to code super complex CSS for it and I thought that was super cool :D CSS especially on those days did leave us all with mental scars, haha. Small customisations on existing themes were also the way I went, and I guess still do looking at my Dreamwidth, haha.
