Oof I'm sorry for your technology woes, it's always terrible when something breaks and you're not sure you can get your files/you've got them backed up!! I should be more proactive about backing things up (and get a new external HD because mine is extremely old...) but exactly as you said, it never seems urgent until it is 😔
