Small Fandoms Drabblethon round-up: Week 4

The Drabblethon has ended!
Luckily, since February had 29 days this year (leap year! \o/) I was given an extra day in which to write drabbles, and I needed it xD
I came very close to not writing anything more since my Starship Iris drabble on the 20th, but it got to the 29th and I was determined to get a couple more of my ideas down before the month officially ended, and I managed to write two more works on the last day!
I was really determined to write at least one QC fic for the Drabblethon, because it's a tiny fandom (fanworks-wise, anyway) but I also have a lot of fannish thoughts and feelings about it. (I've written for QC before, including for Yuletide one time, and I also received it as a Yuletide gift in 2022). I was batting around a few ideas, but decided to go with this little Yay~Roko scene following on from Comic 5243, in part because I wanted an excuse to use the QPR tag on SquidgeWorld again xD
I still have A Lot of Feelings about A Closed and Common Orbit, and with more time I probably could have written a few more drabbles, but I particularly wanted to write this one drawing parallels between Sidra experimenting with her sensory images and Pepper tearing through the spice cupboard aboard the Yo'ton.
So, 11 fics in total - I was tempted to stop at 10, or push myself to write 12, for an even number, but I did as many as I could manage xD I had such a great time taking part in the Drabblethon, and I'm so pleased that I discovered it with plenty of time to take part.
Some of the fandoms I wrote for, like Starship Iris and FENCE, are fandoms that I've been very active in already, but the Drabblethon gave me an opportunity to explore ideas I hadn't found other ways to write about. I'm especially happy that I got back into posting Starship Iris fic through the Drabblethon and brought two ideas to life that I'd had in my pocket for ages.
With other fandoms, like A Closed and Common Orbit, I had the desire to dabble in those worlds but wouldn't have really known where to start, but the Drabblethon gave me a push to think of little moments that I could fit into 100 words, and the incentive to get them written. I also just love making drabbles, and taking part gave me a lot of thoughts and feelings about what goes into making a drabble and why I enjoy it so much. I've been writing about some of them on Mastodon.
It's now March Meta Matters, and one of the things I'm planning to do for the challenge is collect together fic-related meta like this and post it somewhere less ephemeral, like DW! I'm also planning to archive some of my FENCE meta on enchantedsleeper's space. So, keep an eye out for archiving-related updates!
I'm sad to bid farewell to February, but March is going to be exciting, too!

- Someone (Questionable Content): Yay thinks that Roko should have gone to them for help with her scraped knee. (DW) (SqWA)

- Flavour (Wayfarers Series: A Closed and Common Orbit): "Sidra's enjoying some sense-based imagery," Pepper explained. "We ordered the whole left side of the menu." Blue smiled. "Ah. So y-you're Sidra's Oouoh." (DW) (SqWA)
