Requested characters: Peter Pan, Wendy Darling

I love this film’s depictions of the characters and of Neverland, particularly Peter and Wendy, so I’d love a focus on their relationship and interactions. I’d love some shippy Peter/Wendy or pre-shippy friendship (particularly if it comes with a fun side of Feelings Denial), and feel free to also include found family vibes with John, Michael and the Lost Boys. Pre-movie, during-movie, or post-movie are all good, as are AUs.

Some specific ideas:

Anything set during the Darling children’s time in Neverland, with day-to-day Neverland Shenanigans. I particularly like the canon detail of Peter’s nightmares and would love something focusing on those and how Wendy reacts, or finds out about them.
More on Peter and Wendy’s meetings/interactions pre-Neverland – for example, if Peter hadn’t got his shadow trapped and tried to retrieve it, would Wendy have caught onto his presence another way? It would be fun to see her working out the ‘mystery’ of the figure she’d glimpsed outside the window, perhaps roping in John and Michael to look for clues.
If you’re feeling something a bit angstier – maybe a story focusing on Wendy and the Lost Boys’ departure from Neverland, leaving Peter behind. If they weren’t intercepted by Captain Hook, how might that have gone? Would Peter go after them or be too proud?
Or perhaps something focused on Wendy’s invitation to join the pirates as Red-Handed Jill – what if she went through with it? (I would love any angst to ultimately have a happy ending!)
Post-movie, what if Wendy went back to Neverland with Peter, or didn’t immediately but kept up her regular visits, which became steadily more frequent?
- I’d love something focusing on Wendy in two worlds, possibly torn between the real world and its possibilities and the escape that Neverland provides (plus spending time with Peter)
- Do the people around her know what she’s doing? Does Peter visit her in the real world (possibly at some inopportune times – like while she’s at school)?
Modern AU (with or without powers), any kind of alternate fantasy AU with the characters, sci-fi AU if you want to go bolder? I’m a fan of ‘seeing’ what the canon looks like in different settings, so let your imagination go wild.

Fandom-specific DNWs:

I’m fine with Peter and Wendy being aged up a bit for an AU or post-canon (e.g. becoming full teenagers instead of pre-teens), but please don’t make them outright adults. Anything between their canon ages of ~12/13 and 17 is fine (I could be okay with 18-19 in the right scenario).
Please no smut/NSFW of these two, even if aged up; I just don’t vibe with it for this pairing!

Twelve Percent Dread (Emily McGovern)

This is a really fun and funny read, and if you’re taking an interest in this section without any familiarity with the canon, the graphic novel is available from Amazon/most bookshops/comic book shops and you could probably read it in a couple of hours. It’s a clever, pointed, witty comic about technology, corporate overreach, social media, life being shit but hanging in there in spite of it, some romance, and what is adulting even. The main cast are all a bit terrible (as people, I mean, not as characters) (except for Alicia, who is a cinnamon roll) but they’re also all kind of awesome.

I’m happy with fic focusing on any of the requested characters, but here are some particular likes:

Alicia/Nas – I love them as a couple and would be delighted with shippy fic centred on them, particularly post-canon! What is their relationship like after the events of the comic? How do they adjust to living together, and for Alicia, to ‘human’ life away from Arko?
Anything centered on Alicia that runs along those lines would be great – how does she get on with normal life? I’m a sucker for awkward android/AI characters who don’t really know how to be or act human and Alicia is just one of those. I’d really enjoy a story where she learns to blend in, or a story about all the ways she doesn’t!
Katie and Skylar’s friendship where Katie takes on a big-sisterly, almost parental role, with Skylar is awesome. What happens with them both post-canon? We see them messaging as Skylar flies away – do they keep in touch?
I love unusual writing formats, and this fandom feels like it would lend itself well to chatfic (either as the whole medium or interspersed with regular prose). Conversations between the characters as they go about their daily lives? A funny group chat?
What happens with Nas’ ‘project’ after the comic ends? This could be the gateway to a more serious, plotty fic where the characters deal with living in a chaotic world where everyone is ‘undocumented’ and try not to get caught – or it could lead to shenanigans!

Questionable Content (Webcomic)

Requested characters: The Director, Moray X-21, Yay Newfriend, Roko Basilisk

I would like any fics to feature at least: Yay and The Director OR Yay and Roko OR (as an outside choice) Yay and Moray. Three of the requested characters (if one of them is Yay) would be great; all four is super!

I keep thinking ‘maybe I won’t request QC for Yuletide this year’ and then Jeph keeps introducing characters and arcs I want more of! At the time of writing (October), Yay’s fate was left on such a cliffhanger and I would love some fic that centers on them in relation to the Director, Moray, and/or Roko.

Some ideas:

A different outcome for Yay and the Director’s ‘meeting’ through Moray – what if Yay didn’t freak out and bolt but was curious enough about the other AI to accept (or maybe to decline or to give some other response, but not to run away). Could they be friends? Or maybe Yay decides they’re going to be sworn enemies?
What if Yay and the Director ran into each other under different circumstances (with one or the other making contact before Moray came to Northampton). How might that encounter go?
Maybe Yay decided that eavesdropping at a distance was too indirect and one of their selves arrived at Cubetown (potentially dragging Roko along). How would that unfold?
Maybe Roko (or the Director, or someone else) manages to track Yay down. What happened to them? Can they and Roko pick up where they left off (friendship or other-relationship-wise)? Is Yay the same AI that Roko used to know?
I’d enjoy any kind of Yay and Roko fic (platonic, queerplatonic, romantic and sexual incarnations of their relationship are all good with me), which doesn’t necessarily have to revolve around the meeting with Moray/the Director. Feel free to write something else about their relationship and what they get up to together!
Yay’s more ‘monster-like’ self, revealed through their discussion with Moray, was fascinating and I’d love to see that explored. Can it be physical or just a virtual image? Do all their selves do it? (Anything around Yay’s multiple selves would also be super great, I feel like the potential there doesn’t get explored enough). What causes Yay to ‘slip’ into that form – is it excitement, fear, loss of control?
Anything that incorporates Yay’s origins and/or the Director’s origins and their nature as super-AI navigating a world that doesn’t understand them would be loved 3

I feel like this novelette has so much fascinating potential, and we only get to see a small glimpse of the characters and the world they live in. I’d love some more of that story. What is it like for Hermes to work on art commissions for New Era? What does she think of Ai’s work as ‘I AM AI’? What is a regular day like for Wushui, overseeing and keeping order in Mao Tou Ying? How did Mao Tou Ying come into being, and how does it keep ticking over?

I’d love any appearances by other characters like Auntie Narwani, Nemo, Lei, Joan, or Niao; I could only nominate four, though, so I chose the ones I was most interested in! I’d also love it if you decided to delve more into the world of the novella, maybe telling other stories of the people who live on the outskirts of Emit, or the people who work for New Era. How did this world get the way it did? What took the lives of Ai’s parents? What about the anti-AI (or anti-New Era protestors, those that are left) – how do they make themselves heard? Are there other ways to live outside corporate control and eke out a living?

I’m a sucker for cyberpunk, dystopia, and human stories/found family in the midst of a grim future (ideally with a note of hope), so feel free to lean all the way into that in themes, aesthetic, and ideas. This quote from Hermes sums up what I like best about the world of ‘I AM AI’:

“It might be hard, but being together, working together, even if we’re struggling… I don’t know. There’s something warming about it all, isn’t there? I feel content somehow. Even with knowing that New Era might tear it all down someday.”

Fandom-specific DNWs:

No Ai/Nemo, or Ai/Wushui, or Ai/Auntie Narwani! In general, I’m not really looking for shippy content from this fandom, but I won’t DNW it all because I’m open to well-done romance; however, my interest is much more in the platonic and found family side of things.

Challengers (Movie 2024)

Requested characters: Art Donaldson, Patrick Zweig, Tashi Donaldson

What’s not to love about this terrible (brilliant) trio? I’d like any fic to ideally feature all three characters as a threesome, or if one of the characters for some reason doesn’t appear, to be very much present in the dynamic (e.g. Art/Patrick with mutual pining for Tashi, or Tashi/Patrick or Tashi/Art with the other character either constantly on their minds or making contact from some kind of trip, depending on the scenario). Essentially, I ship them all with each other, and though I’m happy with ideas that focus on two of them, I’d love that to be in the context of a threesome.

I don’t normally go in for messy ships, but with Art/Patrick/Tashi the mess is the point, and I’d love you to lean all the way into that – preferably with some kind of upside/making-it-work-in-a-fucked-up-way rather than a ‘hurt no comfort’ way. Dry/snarky/dark humour is loved. Angst and pining are good, but I’d like there to also be some fun stuff, as I say, rather than it being exclusively bleak. NSFW is loved, because this is an incredibly horny film with an incredibly horny trio.

Tennis is the fourth member of this relationship, so feel free to make that a feature in the fic (I especially enjoy the dynamic of Tashi’s love affair with tennis while Art and Patrick look on like the Distracted Boyfriend meme), but I’m no expert, so I’m also happy for it to not feature heavily and I won’t be expecting technical detail xD

I’m happy for Lily to feature, and equally happy for her to not feature – threesome chaos dynamics while bringing up a kid would be fun, but I’m also on board with her being conveniently absent while messy relationship drama and sexytimes are happening. I’m familiar with the fan headcanon that Lily is Patrick’s, and I don’t have strong feelings about it – if you do want to include it, I’d like it to not be the source of any major drama.

Some other thoughts/ideas:

Alternate scenarios for the night the three of them made out in Art and Patrick’s hotel room – what could have gone differently if Tashi had stayed? Or maybe they could have reunited the next day?
Fics set at Stanford, maybe with an earlier threesome hookup among the trio. What if Art stumbles on Tashi and Patrick together and is really into that? Or maybe Tashi gets tired of Patrick and Art dancing around each other and takes matters into her own hands (again xD)?
Patrick remarks pretty early on that he’d let Tashi fuck him with a racket – did they ever carry this out while the two of them were together (or maybe in the present day)?
Post-movie is, of course, a source of unending possibilities. What happens after the match and Art and Patrick’s embrace? Are conversations had? Do they manage to sort things out with minimal talking? Or do things get more ridiculous before they get better? I’d love some outsider POV, or media/social media speculation to feature.
In a timeline where Tashi’s injury doesn’t happen – what changes? What stays the same? You might think that it would make things less angst-filled and dramatic, but I have faith in the ability of these three to bring the angst and drama anyway.

Fandom-specific DNWs: No infidelity with characters other than members of the trio, please, and no breaking up the trio in any permanent way (i.e. two members getting together without a third, or the three all going their separate ways).
