I am not a fanwork CREATOR so all my fannish interaction has (almost by necessity) taken place on social media/other websites, even when I have my own space. Like, I just recently started a new website to keep copies of my things, but I don't expect to have any interaction on it, because everyone else is on different sites. So I've definitely run into that feeling of, like, trying to find the "next big fannish site" and then finding it (maybe), trying to make a home, getting more comfortable, liking it, and then getting it yanked away because of corporate greed or something. Bleh.
