Requested characters: Elizabeth Appleboom, Evanescent Incinerator, Moray X-21, Marten Reed

I wasn’t originally planning to request QC again this year after getting a lovely gift for it last year, but darn it if Jeph Jacques doesn’t keep going and introducing more fun characters that I want to see fic of!

I love the Cubetown chaos and these characters in particular have captured my heart. I’ve picked ‘one or more’ for my character choices as I’d love to see anything focusing on any combination of these guys. Liz is a terrible gremlin but also sweet, vulnerable at times, and has a ton of potential to grow or just get up to hilarious/ridiculous hijinks with the others. Evie is a great foil to Liz’s gremlin tendencies and has an excellent range, from ‘no-nonsense security guard’ to ‘adult who is sick of your shit’ to ‘huge softie who’s afraid of messing up’ to ‘chill fun aunt who will supervise you getting high’.

Moray… Moray is a sweetheart, a goober, a precious cinnamon roll who can do no wrong even though she’s quite terrible at a lot of things. But I’d like to see her in some situations where she can use her skills (and not just her skills of turning herself into other objects, although those too) and knowledge of Cubetown and its people to great effect. I also think that she and Liz make a sweet pair, and it would be really fun to see Liz worn down or won over by Moray’s bubblegum positivity. Liz also clearly has the hots for Evan, and they make for a really fun love/hate (or angry sex) pairing – or how about a Liz/Evan/Moray OT3?

Finally we have Marten, our resident Chill Dad/Uncle/Older Brother. I love his and Claire’s found family/adopted kid vibes with Liz, and the rapport that he and Liz have. Some hijinks with Liz and/or Moray (and Evan?) in Northampton would be brilliant (we may also get this in-comic before the year ends), or in Cubetown: perhaps shenanigans as Marten gets his coffee shop off the ground (with Liz, Moray and Evan ‘helping’) or Marten helping one or more of the others through some kind of very mundane crisis that they’ve never encountered before because Cubetown is weird. I would love Claire to be a part of it as well being her badass librarian self, or just amusedly watching Marten do his thing from the sidelines.

Other ideas/general prompts:

• Evan and Liz backstory: what run-ins have they had before? This can be shippy or non-, but there are some glorious ship possibilities. Why did Liz nickname Evan ‘titties’? Was Evan the cause of a bi awakening for Liz? How does Liz handle having a crush (poorly, very poorly)?


• Present-day Evan/Liz frenemies-to-lovers, or some angry sex? A drunken and regretted one-night-stand that prompts endless awkwardness (or a total crisis from one or both of them) later?


• Moray/Liz – it would be fun to see Moray jealous over Liz, maybe due to Liz’s crush on Evan? Or Liz realising she has feelings for Moray and having a bit of a crisis, maybe trying to rope Marten into helping her (or him just acting as her long-suffering confidante)?


• Evan/Liz/Moray combining any of the above!


• Marten and Claire bringing Liz and/or Moray and Evan to Northampton, or introducing any Northampton friends/family (your choice!) to the folks at Cubetown

Fandom-specific DNWs:

• I would not want Marten involved with Liz, Evan or Moray in a shippy way, or with anyone other than Claire (I think they’re very monogamously happy and that’s great!)
• Please no inclusion of Evan’s sleepyhead syndrome in a sexual situation. It could be fun to feature in other contexts, but in the context of NSFW it’s too close to non-con for my liking.

Barbie (Movie 2023)

Requested characters: Ryan Gosling Ken, Simu Liu Ken

This was a fun film, and the scenes that were most hilarious to me were whenever these two interacted. Their rivalry is adorable and fun, and I’d love to see more of it, preferably in a shippy way (or didn’t-know-they-were-basically-dating). The dynamic I love the most is when they realise that being rivals with each other is the most important thing and have to come to terms with what that means.

I’m happy for fics to deal with Ryan!Ken (and to a lesser extent, Simu!Ken)’s recovery from toxic patriarchy, but I would also be really fine with ignoring that whole thing altogether, either in the sense of “he came to his senses and we’re all good”, or “this just didn’t happen in-universe for whatever reason (which can be a part of the plot, or not)”. Totally fine by me. I’m here for shipping the dumb boys together more than I am for any themes about misogyny or patriarchy, which I get plenty of in the real world ;)

Specific ideas/thoughts:

• Could the two come to their senses about what they mean to each other before/during the events of the movie? What if Simu!Ken came with them to the real world somehow – what would that look like? Or perhaps he went after his rival to ‘rescue’ him? (Not out of any sort of caring, of course. Perish the thought!)


• Post-movie, what happens to the pair’s ‘rivalry’ without Barbie there? Do they find something else to be rivals over, or do they have to reckon with what no longer having that pretext to interact means? This is the classic scenario, but it never gets old! (Feel free to have them be as dense as you like for as long as you like. Feelings is hard)


• What if Ryan!Ken never followed Barbie to the real world in the first place – how might things have gone? Barbie could still have brought Gloria and Sasha back to Barbieland, but the resolution of their arc might not have involved the Kens – meanwhile, how does Ryan!Ken feel about being so uninvolved in Barbie’s quest? Maybe he looks for fulfilment in another way?


• Ryan!Ken often gets the focus as the one who needs to find himself after the events of the film, with Simu!Ken being the relatively more-adjusted one, but what if it was the other way around? What if Ryan!Ken finds new purpose and his rival finds himself adrift for the first time?


• I love all the various Barbieland side characters, particularly Weird Barbie and Allen, so feel free to involve them in whatever capacity you find fun or interesting!


• Smut is welcome, which can take whatever form you like (check out my list of smut likes for some general preferences) – if it’s in Barbieland, feel free to get creative with genitalia or lack thereof xD Or transplant it to the real world for equipment purposes

The Strange Case of Starship Iris

I’ve been in Starship Iris fandom for a while (if you matched with me on this fandom, you might already know that xD) and have written it for Yuletide before, but this is my first time requesting it! I’m very excited.

I’ve spent enough time in this fandom and world that I have headcanons and likes for a wide range of characters, and I’d love to be surprised with my gift! So I’m throwing it open to whatever you, my gifter and/or treater, decide, but here are some general likes and prompts:

• Violet/Arkady – The Big One, of course, but I love their dynamic and the build of their relationship throughout season 1, as well as the way it matures throughout season 2.


• Their mutual admiration for each other’s skills and competencies is so great – I’m a fan of competency porn, so feel free to give me Violet and/or Arkady excelling in their respective domains and the other being Very Impressed.


• I enjoy pre-get-together mutual pining, and Violet’s observation about how Arkady looks good in a tank top is great ship fodder – could this have been around the time the ship’s temperature reg first broke, or maybe while Arkady was fixing something around the ship? Violet patching up Arkady after a mission is another scenario I love


• Maybe something set around the time that they were apart during 2.05.5 and their long-distance messages (I enjoy unusual formats and epistolary fic!)


• Other likes: undercover together for a mission, Violet and/or Arkady in formalwear, anything incorporating Arkady’s asexuality and them navigating it in a feel-good and healthy way


• Violet/Arkady/Sana – I like Arkady/Sana mostly as a ‘what might have been’/ ‘let’s not ruin our friendship’ pining situation, but I adore Violet/Arkady/Sana as I think Sana really rounds out the ship in awesome ways and again, they all complement each other fantastically. Also, speaking of looking good in a tank top, Sana DEFINITELY looks good in a tank top.


• Mutual pining, mutually being in denial – who would be the one to make the first move? Or maybe it’s prompted by some outside circumstances?


• Since Sana is apparently canonically poly, her being in a threesome with Arkady/Violet and also someone like Park or Campbell (or both!) would be really fun. Poly dynamics!


• RJ & Park – it’s no secret that I adore these two, and while my personal headcanon for them is more queerplatonic, I also enjoy shippy Park/RJ, so go with what your heart desires! If Shelly is involved, who is she to Park? (I am down for Shelly/Park/RJ, but she doesn’t have to be a romantic partner!)


• As with V/A, I would love something set around Park and RJ’s separation in 2.05.5. RJ must have messaged Park, right? (Right?) What did they say?


• Post-season 2 – we were robbed of an RJ and Park reunion, so I would love something on this, or maybe a fix-it where Park arrives earlier or RJ decides not to leave for Mirzakhani.


• Sana/Campbell – adorable, need I say more? I would love Sana and Campbell spending time together on Telemachus, either pre- or post-canon, maybe with Sana meeting Campbell’s nephews and other family members. How did they first meet each other and start doing business? What shenanigans might Campbell have helped out with over the years?


• Park/Sana – I think there’s a ton of potential here in their relatively contrasting personalities, with Park being more cynical and pragmatic and Sana being very idealistic (but also practical). I’d love to see a romantic connection between them, maybe undercover during a mission together or post-canon (also with Campbell if you’d like to add him in there – I headcanon that Park and Campbell might have crossed paths in their military days, do with that what you will!)


• Other Violet, Thasia & Emily Craddock – there is SO MUCH that could be explored here, and I would love to see more fics with these three, whether in a shippy configuration or non.


• This could be pre-canon, in a canon divergence AU, or maybe something bittersweet with Other Violet and Thasia missing Emily.


• Or, just Other Violet and Thasia together – what is their life and work for the resistance like?


• Brian/Krejjh – they didn’t make it into the tag set this year >_<;; but I adore them, so please do write them into the fic in whatever way you please, either as a couple being their awesome selves or by focusing on their friendship with any other members of the crew. There are too many possibilities for me to list here!


• I also adore gen found family with the whole crew together, and feel free to bring in anyone I haven’t listed here, like Juniper Liu or Max Gavins, anything that strikes you as fun. I’ve listed a lot of canon-verse ideas, but I also love canon divergence and AUs! The sky’s the limit.

Peter Pan (2003)

Requested characters: Peter Pan, Wendy Darling

I’ve loved the 2003 Peter Pan movie forever, so I’m really stoked to be able to request it for Yuletide. Peter and Wendy’s dynamic in particular is one of my favourite things about this film (as well as the way it brings Neverland to life, and just the overall fun tropeiness) and I’d love some fic that plays to that with shippy Peter/Wendy interactions or pre-shippy friendship (particularly if it comes with a fun side of Feelings Denial).

Some general ideas/tropes I enjoy:

• A modern AU/modern take on Peter and Wendy’s meeting in the real world – what would this look like? Or any kind of AU you think would be fun!


• More on Peter and Wendy’s meetings/interactions pre-Neverland – for example, if Peter hadn’t got his shadow trapped and tried to retrieve it, would Wendy have caught onto his presence another way? It would be fun to see her working out the ‘mystery’ of the figure she’d glimpsed outside the window, perhaps roping in John and Michael to look for clues


• Anything set during the Darling children’s time in Neverland, with day-to-day Neverland Shenanigans. I particularly like the canon detail of Peter’s nightmares and would love something focusing on those and how Wendy reacts, or finds out about them


• I enjoy the side ship of John Darling/Tiger Lily in the film and would enjoy that being a feature in any Neverland fics or in an AU!


• If you’re feeling something a bit angstier – maybe a story focusing on Wendy and the Lost Boys’ departure from Neverland, leaving Peter behind. If they weren’t intercepted by Captain Hook et al, how might that have gone? Would Peter go after them or be too proud? Or perhaps something focused on Wendy’s invitation to join the pirates as Red-Handed Jill – what if she went through with it more seriously? (I would love any angst to ultimately have a happy ending!)


• Post-movie, what if Wendy went back to Neverland with Peter, or didn’t immediately but kept up her regular visits, which became steadily more frequent?


• I’d love something focusing on Wendy in two worlds, possibly torn between the real world and its possibilities and the escape that Neverland provides (plus spending time with Peter)


• Do the people around her know what she’s doing? Does Peter visit her in the real world (possibly at some inopportune times – like while she’s at school)? This could also be fun to explore in an AU!

Fandom-specific DNWs:

• I’m fine with Peter and Wendy being aged up a bit for an AU (e.g. becoming full teenagers instead of pre-teens), but please don’t make them adults outright. (So not above the age of 18, and closer to their canon ages of 12-13 is generally preferred)


• Please no smut/NSFW of these two, even if aged up; I just don’t vibe with it for this pairing

Cherry Magic (TV)

Requested characters: Adachi Kiyoshi, Kurosawa Yuichi

I love this drama, and the dynamic between Adachi and Kurosawa – Kurosawa being this perfect adored popular guy who only has eyes for the (cute but) mostly unremarkable dude, and Adachi being a comparatively ordinary person who nevertheless draws people to him and has a circle of very loyal friends. I really enjoy cute fluffy fic and also pornier smutty scenarios, so feel free to take this in whatever direction you please!

• Canon divergence AU where Adachi retains his powers after they have sex for the first time – what would this be like? Maybe they figure out that they need to have more sex of various kinds just to be sure? But also, if this is just How It Is from now on, do they find some fun and sexy new uses for Adachi’s telepathy?


• Or, what if Kurosawa somehow gains mind-reading powers too after their first time (*handwave* who knows how, there’s no need to explain it) – what is that experience like for him? And again, how do he and Adachi find some fun ways to use their new power – maybe some sneaky office flirting or telepathy-sexting? Or a fun feedback loop during sex?


• Anything set pre-canon while Kurosawa is busy pining – maybe there’s an office function and people have to escort each other as ‘dates’, but both take it Very Very Seriously? What if one or both of them needs a fake date to a wedding or family function for ~reasons? And, shockingly, it turns out that the other’s family are Big Fans and wow, this guy is clearly a keeper!


• I really love the flashback in episode 7 to the moment that Kurosawa fell for Adachi – what did this look like from Adachi’s POV? What if it had played out a bit differently with Adachi accompanying Kurosawa home and sleeping over, which leads to Kurosawa cooking him breakfast the next morning as a thank you? Could some feelings – and confessions – have bloomed a bit earlier?


• Another favourite scene from the show is when Adachi gets sick in episode 5 and Kurosawa takes care of him – how might this have played out if Kurosawa’s sister hadn’t been there? Or, since I’m a fan of outsider POV, what was her perspective on the whole thing?


• I’m not really a fan of the movie timeline and characterisations, but would love a fix-it for the movie – in my humble opinion, Kurosawa’s response to Adachi getting this amazing new job opportunity should have been to cheerlead him and big him up! The long-distance would be something that they could work out, so – in this much happier scenario, how do they handle things?


• I’m a fan of Aurum’s girls Kurodachi ‘verse, and so would be delighted with some genderbent F/F Kurodachi of any variety 👀
